THE Asian Football Confederation (AFC) ‘B’ Coaching Course drew to a close yesterday with eight local and one foreign (Nigerian) coaches receiving their certificates of participation from National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) assistant general secretary Pg Mohd Amirrizal Pg Hj Mahmud.

The AFC ‘B’ Coaching Course was a progression of the AFC ‘C’ coaching course, where participants went through a more advanced understanding of football coaching after acquiring the basics.

The course also included various sports science modules such as components of physical fitness, muscular and energy systems and sports psychology that were conducted by the Sports Medicine Research Centre (SMRC) at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.

The AFC ‘B’ Coaching Course started on February 27 and the coaches had to sit for three practical and two theory exams through the duration of the course which was conducted by AFC Instructor Mike Wong and Stephen Ng Heng Seng at NFABD House.

Meanwhile, 31 coaches who sat for two AFC coaching courses last year - 19 for the AFC ‘C’ Coaching Course from November 21-December 3 and 12 for the AFC Goalkeeping Coaching Course Level 1 from September 3-8 – also received their certificates.
