Tabuan A, Najip FC emerge winners at 4th DST Futsal Cup for Orphans

TABUAN A and Najip FC emerged champions after clinching their respective age groups of the 4th DST Futsal Cup For Orphans earlier today.

Tabuan A triumphed in the Under-15 (13-15 years old) category after winning all three of their games at the NFABD (National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam) House in Berakas.

Kota Ranger and Menglait FC followed to complete the podium of the four-team competition.

On the other hand, Najip FC were also flawless winning all four of their Under-12 (9-12 years old) matches.

MS ABDB (Royal Brunei Armed Forces Sports Council) were second while Wijaya FC bagged third place.

Mohd Waez Shami Hj Mohd Noor of Kota Ranger won the Top Scorer award in the Under-15 category with four goals to his name while in the Under-12 category, Md Abd Hafiz Shamsul Rizal took top honours after finding the back of the net seven times.

Present to present the prizes to the winners was Radin Sufri Radin Basiuni, DST Assistant General Manager of Group Corporate Communications.

Suhaimi Hussain, CEO of DST, was the event’s guest of honour.

Over 70 participants from all four districts competed in the half-day event, which is an initiative under DST’s community corporate social responsibility programme ‘Ihsan Kasih’.

In addition, former national team goalkeeper Ibrahim Abu Bakar - who won the 1999 Malaysia Cup – was also at hand to provide words of motivation and encouragement to the young footballers.
