NATIONAL wushu exponent Mohd Adi Salihin Roslan did Brunei proud after winning two gold and one bronze medals at the International Pars Cup Wushu Championships in Iran.

The result placed the Sultanate third overall out of 14 countries at the April 14-17 competition, which featured a total of 163 athletes.

Adi delivered the gold medals from the nanquan (southern fist) and nandao (southern sword) events while he finished third in the nangun (southern staff) event.

Adi is thankful and will continue to work hard.

"Big thanks to my coach Li Hui and I'm so proud that I did my best at Iran," said Adi in an interview with BruSports earlier today.

"I'm going to train harder and I also sent to give a big thank you to all who support me especially to my family," he added.

National wushu coach Li Hui expressed his delight with the results.

"The coaches and judges from other countries never expected to see such results," said Li Hui.

"Because Brunei has never gotten results like this. From their point of view, Brunei Wushu has improved quickly," he added.

The tournament is part of preparations for the upcoming SEA Games in Malaysia in August.
