Lun Bawang win eight-goal thriller

LUN Bawang earned a thrilling 5-3 win over Jerudong FC in the DST Super League yesterday.

The victory helped Lun Bawang move up to fifth place in the 11-team table with seven points - behind third-placed Kasuka FC and second-placed Wijaya FC, who also recorded three points last night after beating the Royal Brunei Police Forces Sports Council (MS PDB) 2-1.

The Temburong district based club got off to a perfect start when Amir Bujang found the net in the fourth and 16th minutes before Hidayatur Rahim pulled one goal back just a minute before the break at the Batu Apoi Sports Complex.

Jerudong came out a different team in the second-half putting more players forward and they managed to force an own goal courtesy of Christoper Anak Ambon in the 58th minute.

Mohd Arif Ali Rahman put Jerudong ahead for the first time in the 63rd minute, but their lead would not last long when Lun Bawang were awarded a penalty just five minutes later which Micky Gandi converted to make it 3-3.

Christopher would redeem himself scoring for Lun Bawang in the 72nd minute and the midfielder sealed his club’s second win in the competition with another goal in the 78th minute.

The DST Premier League action also took place yesterday with Brunei Shell Recreational Club (BSRC) FT sending DSP United to their first defeat of the season with a 2-0 victory at the BSRC Sports Complex.
