Brunei off to strong start

BRUNEI got their AFC Under-16 Championship Group F qualifying campaign off to a flying start after beating Macau 4-0 today.

Mohammad Ady Aiman opened the scoring in the 26th minute before Abdul Raziq doubled their lead 11 minutes later at the Fu Jen University in Chinese Taipei.

Hakeme Hazid made 3-0 from the spot after Cheang Ka Lok conceded a penalty in the 66th minute.

The national under-15 football team completed the victory with Eddy Shahrol getting his name on the scoresheet four minutes from time.

National under-15 coach Stephen Ng is glad with the result but remains focus for the remaining fixtures.

"It's a good start to our four-game plan in this AFC U16 Group F qualifers," said Ng.

"It is important for us is to try pick up as many points as we can, and we will now focus on our second game against Chinese Taipei on Monday," he concluded.
