IT was medals galore for the national taekwondo Poomsae team at the Sehan University President Taekwondo Championships over the weekend.
Four athletes – Siblings Hyde Nathania, Nachman and Natrisha Hijium and Ahmad Zahid Borhan – amassed a total of two gold, three silver and one bronze medals at Yeongam-gun in South Korea.
Nachman finished at the top of the podium in the men’s individual event after defeating Zahid in the final.
He had received a bye in the first round before overcoming Ma Won Ho from YeoSoo Lion TKD for the title clash.
Nachman then teamed up with Nathania to win gold in the mixed pair event beating fellow Bruneians Natrisha and Zahid.
Nathania claimed the silver medal in the women’s individual event after falling to Yoon Yoo Bi of Tiger TKD in the final.
She overcame Lee Ye Yeong of Jeon Ju TKD before beating her younger sister Natrisha, who took the bronze, in the semi-finals.
