NFABD rebranded to FABD

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN

THE National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) has rebranded itself to the Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (FABD).

This was according to a press release from the governing body of football in the country on Saturday.

The move was made to strongly reflect on the association’s vision of delivering fresh and robust developments to making the sport more sustainable.

It is also to mirror the growth and expansion of the association since its establishment in 2011.

A new logo, which was designed by Maha'adi Mohd Aiani and Pengiran Hisyamuddin Pengiran Seri Jaya, was also unveiled.

The duo were joint winners of the "NFABD Rebrand Competition' held last year.

The three-layered crescent each represents the colours in the national flag of Brunei.

This combination represents the identity and values adopted by the association, which is aligned with Brunei Darussalam’s national philosophy — Melayu Islam Beraja (MIB).

This motif also signifies the association’s wish to inject a more precise and better growth in the sultanate’s football.

The green-coloured football decorated with honeycomb pattern is the culmination of what the association aspires to achieve, which is to build and achieve the full potential of football as a sustainable sport in the country.

The honeycomb motif was chosen as the trademark of Brunei Darussalam’s national football following thecountry’s close association with ‘Wasps’ when it comes to the sport since ages ago.

The colour green was also chosen to reflect on the Islamic values adapted and practised by the association.
