Samsul, 29, was satisfied with his performance throughout the 10km military-style obstacle challenge held at the Royal Brunei Air Force Base in Rimba.

"Alhamdulilah I am very happy with my result and performance, it was a very good challenge as we have a couple of experienced national marathon runners and athletes competing in the category… so again I feel happy to finish in first position," said Samsul in an interview with BruSports News after the event.

"I managed to train well for this race and did a total of 48km of training throughout six days to condition myself for this particular event.

"I also have to control my diet to stay in good shape as well as monitor my daily water intake to stay hydrated and ready. Everything just went well for me," added the RBAF Special Force Regiment personnel.
