DPMM FC will head to Cambodia for their pre-season tour this year.

The Singapore Premier League (SPL) reigning champions have two games lined up and will open their tour against Visakha FC on Sunday before taking on PKR Svay Rieng two days later.

DPMM FC coach Adrian Pennock, who extended his contract for a second season, is looking forward to the trip.

“The boy have been fantastic and have been working very hard. It is also good to see some young players come through,” said Pennock in an interview with BruSports News yesterday.

“We are doing 2-3 sessions per day from gym work, hill work and football. We are looking forward to Cambodia for two difficult games.

“We are not too worried about the results because it is all about preparations and game time,” he added.

“I’m also happy and thankful to the management to give me the opportunity to sign again. I’m looking forward to another tough season,” continued the Englishman.

The duo of Charlie Clough and Andrei Varankou have signed on for another season. The third import slot is yet to be filled after the departure of Blake Ricciuto.

DPMM FC will begin their campaign on February 22 against Tampines Rovers FC in the Community Shield.

They will then open their SPL season with a meeting against Home United FC a week later.

However, it won’t be as easy retaining the title this season.

“We start the same way that we did last season which is against Home United,” said Pennock.

“But the difference this year is that the Singapore teams will have two extra foreign players. They will have five wile we have three,” he concluded.

Brunei’s only professional football team will depart the Sultanate on Friday before returning on Wednesday.
