INDERA SC were crowned champions of the Brunei Super League after a 3-2 victory over holders Kasuka FC on Sunday.
The win saw them finish the season with 10 wins and draw for a total of 31 points – leapfrogging their opponents, who are on 30, in the 12-team standings on the final day.
Contested at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas, Muhammad Akram Waqeel Muhammad Bakri opened the scoring after heading home off a corner in the 21st minute.
They doubled their advantage courtesy of Leon Sullivan Taylor with a strike from the edge of the area to beat Muhammad Jefri Syafiq Ishak in between the Kasuka sticks.
It was 3-0 after Muhammad Akram bagged his second of the game less than two minutes into the second half.
Taylor outmuscled two defenders near the touchline and played a perfect through pass for Muhammad Akram to beat the keeper one-on-one.
Kasuka responded almost immediately through Muhammad Alinur Rashimy Hj Sufri.
He had brought down the ball on the right and scored off a tight angle.
Time was not on the side of Kasuka and they only found the back of the net once again seven minutes into added time.
Adi Said got his name on the scoresheet with a strike from 18 yards out but it proved little too late as a mere consolation.
The winners walked away with a cash prize of BND $10,000.
Kota Ranger placed third with 26 points.
