WAN AZLEE Khairi Wan Zuraimi (L) bagged a silver medal at the 2026 Karate One-Youth League Manila after finishing runner-up in the Under-14 Kumite Male -40kg category.
Contested at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City, he fell 7-0 against Franzcis Erl Jud Abundo of the Philippines in the final on Sunday.
Wan Azlee began his campaign with a 7-0 win over Filipino Jimenez Eleazar Zion Rafael.
He then edged John Paul Peralta 1-0 in the second round and made it three wins out of three after beating Mikhail Rogunov 3-2 to conquer his pool and advance to the final.
The duo of Rugonov and Uzbekistan's Timur Madaliev claimed the joint-bronze after clinching their respective repechage.
The 2026 Karate One-Youth League Manila, which ran from May 14-17, is the third event of the season of the series of international karate tournaments.
It featured over 700 athletes, aged 12 to 19, from 58 countries and comprised 34 categories.
