THE national football team slipped to their second straight defeat at the Aceh World Solidarity Cup in Indonesia after a 4-0 loss to Kyrgyzstan earlier today.

The Wasps, who started their campaign with a defeat to hosts Indonesia by the same scoreline on Saturday, used almost an entirely different starting lineup for their second match.

They got off to a rough start with Kyrgyzstan taking the lead though Anton Zemlianukhin inside the opening minute at the Harapan Bangsa Stadium.

Kyrgyzstan doubled their lead through Azamat Baimatov in the 32nd minute.

Baimotov added another nine minutes into the second half from the penalty spot before Shaarbekov completed the win with another goal five minutes later.

Head coach Stephen Ng assured that his charges will bounce back for their last game against Mongolia on Wednesday.

"The team fought hard today (Monday) with full commitment in every tackle and strong determination to move the ball forward as we were unable to play possession football due to the heavy rain," said Ng in a press release from NFABD.

"We will regroup, recover and prepare to give our best in our last game against Mongolia," he concluded.
