INDONESIA brought the pain as they rout Brunei 6-0 in the first leg of their FIFA World Cup 2026 and AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 qualifying match on Thursday.

The home side opened the scoring as early as the seventh minute at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium.

A lifted ball was misjudged by Brunei goalkeeper Haimie Nyaring which allowed Hokky Caraka to head towards goal.

His effort bounced off the post and Dimas Drajad pounced from close range.

The lead was doubled just five minutes later after Rizky Ridho volleyed home off a corner.

The Wasps managed to deny Indonesia adding to their tally for the rest of the half.

The referee pointed to the spot after Nazhan Zulkifli brought down Sandy Walsh inside the box just after the hour mark.

Ramadhan Sananta stepped up to convert the spot kick to make it 3-0.

He made it a quickfire double by adding to the scoresheet four minutes later.

Haimie had denied a shot from outside the box but the rebound fell for Sananta to head it into the net.

It was 5-0 in the 72nd minute after Drajad rose highest to head past Haimie.

The Garuda capped off a lopsided victory with Drajad completing his hat-trick two minutes into added time.

He skipped past his marker before firing in between two Bruneian defenders past Haimie.

The second leg will be contested on Oct 17th at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.
