AZWAN Ali Rahman has been selected to be part of the ASEAN All-Star team to face Manchester United in the Maybank Challenge Cup next month.

The Brunei national team captain, who has 27 caps since making his debut in 2012, is excited to be part of the side with the best players in the region.

"As a Bruneian, I feel very grateful to be selected as one of the best players in this region," said Azwan Ali in an interview with BruSports News.

"I don't have much expectations for this match as I just want to play if given the chance and to enjoy the environment," added the DPMM FC midfielder.

Azwan Ali, who is the country's joint-topscorer with eight to his name, is a long time Liverpool fan.

When asked on how he feels on facing their rivals, the 33-year-old replied: "I just feel that I want to score against them."

The game will be contested at the Bukit Jalil Stadium in the Malaysian Capital on May 28 - just three days after the conclusion of the English Premier League.
