REIGNING champions Wan Sing got their title defence off on the right foot after easing past CH Elite 112-72 in Group B of the YOU.C1000 Cup on Saturday night.
They had five players in double figures with Joven Dungog leading the way with 24 points.
Asi Medina added 16 while Vinelson Escober dropped 11.
The pair of Eric Palanca and Friedrich Moreno each poured in 10 in the triumph.
On the other side, Colin Kyle led CH Elite with 13 points.
The duo of Khael Tandoc and Zayyan Aaryan scored 11 each in the defeat.
Wan Sing had opened up a 26-12 lead by the end of the first quarter and never looked back at the BBA Court in Batu Bersurat.
Meanwhile, D'Harith defeated MSSSBD 49-36 in the women's category.
Chieng Hei Yien led the way with 13 points for D'Harith.
Trisha Valencia contributed 12 and Tong Sing Ching chipped in 10.
For MSSSBD, Chong Yi Hui was the only player in double figures with 11 points.
D'Harith went in front 12-9 in the first period.
MSSSBD flipped the game in their favour as they went in front 23-20 at the break.
The turnaround came in the third stanza as when D'Harith outscored their younger opponents 16-4 in the frame.
The tournament continues on Sunday with Hoopsters taking on Minimau in the women's category at 7pm.
Car Care and V United will meet in a Group C encounter at 8.30pm.
