YUNI-KU advanced to the semi-finals of the YOU.C1000 Cup after dispatching OBS 72-57 on Saturday.
Francis Juelar was the topscorer for Yuni-ku with 16 points at the BBA Court in Batu Bersurat.
The pair of Jeremy Chu and Aristeo Fullado notched 15 points apiece while Kon Yee Hung added 11 in the triumph.
On the other hand, Shahrun Zulkifli and Hadi AJ poured in 11 each for OBS in the defeat.
It was a slow start for both sides with the scoreboard reading 6-3 in favour of Yuni-ku midway through the opening frame.
Yuni-ku were focused at the defensive end and converting them into points.
Fullado made a steal and finished off a layup to put Yuni-ku 17-10 at the end of the first.They opened up a double digit lead after a Chu basket with 6:45 to the break.
Yuni-ku deployed a full court trap and it resulted in turnovers by OBS.
It allowed them to extend the advantage to 39-24 by halftime.
They stuck to the same game plan after the interval.
A three-pointer by Juelar saw the lead balloon to 52-30 in the third quarter as they carried on the victory.
They will face TK/CJMM in the semi-finals on Wednesday.
The competition continues on Sunday with defending champions Wan Sing taking on Tech G at 7pm.
The last final-eight match between Easyway and Ekonic follows at 8.30pm.
