Irfan propels Cloud 8 to Circuit 2 triumph

IRFAN Khabilah hit the game-winner to lift Cloud 8 to victory in the Under-18 category of Circuit 2 of the Brunei 3x3 Basketball Championship 2025 on Sunday.

The 17-year-old knocked down a close range basket as time expired for a 15-14 win over Bricks Squad Elite in the final.

The game headed down the wire after Terry Chai knocked down a two-pointer to make it 11-11 with two minutes to play.

Yeh Hao Yan then put them in front with a layup the next possession at the Tutong Chung Hwa School.

Ryan Ting responded immediately with a layup of his own for Bricks Squad Elite.

Nicholas Ting connected on a shot from behind the arc to put Bricks Squad Elite up 14-13 with 40 seconds left.

They were in control and Nicholas took another shot with time winding down but missed.

Yeh got the board and went straight to work to tie things up at 14-14.

Andrin had the ball in his hands for the last possession but dribbled it off his leg.

Yeh got to it first then and found an unmanned Irfan inside to finish off their opponents.

It wasn't all easy for Cloud 8 as they also had a nail-biting encounter in the semi-finals.

Chai came up with the game-winning two-pointer to edge SYTC 13-12 in overtime.

CH Elite took the bronze after defeating SYTC 19-10 in the third-place playoff.

Circuit 3 will be held on August 31 at the Kg Baru Basketball Court in Seria.
