JAMIE ON were crowned champions of the 2nd Brunei 3x3 Basketball Championship 2025 after a 22-20 overtime victory over Fatties in the final on Sunday.
Ahmad Termizi Hj Noordeen topscored for Jamie On with 11 points while Lim Liang Wei added seven.
On the other hand, Chan Yung Ken led the way for Fatties with 11 points and Al-Fariq Affendy five in the defeat.
Fatties took the lead for the first time after back-to-back two-pointers by Chan made it 7-5 with over six minutes to play at the BBA Court in Batu Bersurat.
Both sides traded shots from behind the arc and Fatties opened up a 15-11 advantage with over three minutes left.
Jamie On took a timeout to regroup but Fatties extended their advantage to as large as five points.
Mizi hit a two-pointer before Jaron blocked Chan and hit one from behind the line to cut the deficit to 16-15 with two minutes to go.
Al-Fariq and Lim dropped one each from behind the line and it went down the wire at 18-17.
Fatties took a timeout but it was Jaron On that got the next two-point basket before Lim converted a layup to tie the match.
Kelvin Chai then knocked down a corner two to put them on the brink with 44 seconds left.
But Jamie on came up with stops and the game was tied after Mizi scored the game-trying shot with 15 seconds to play.
They forced a shot clock violation the next possession but couldn't get a shot off to see the game head to overtime.
Mizi scored off a layup 30 seconds into the extra frame and Lim was fouled the next possession to send them to the line.
However, he missed the ensuing freethrow and gave Fatties a chance. Jaron On ensured they covered the perimeter to not allow any two-pointers.
Chai had an open look only for the ball to roll out and the game was put to bed after Al-Fariq fouled Mizi with 3:45 left and he completed the victory from the charity stripe.
Meanwhile, Anderson Yeo dropped nine two-pointers to see Oldies clinch the bronze with a 19-17 win over Hong JieJie.
