BRUNEI will be sending seven athletes, contesting in three sports, to the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games to held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
This was confirmed during the flag handing ceremony at the Simpur Room, 1st Floor of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas on Monday.
Pg Mohd Hasnan Pg Hj Ali Hassan, the permanent secretary (Culture) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, handed over the Brunei flag to chef de mission Mohammad Rosfazilah Hj Yusly.
Fencers Mohammad Haziq Asahrin and 1591 Lt (U) Hjh Anis Sabrina Hj Yahya will contest in the men's and women's individual sabre event.
The duo is accompanied by national fencing coach Rocky Poerawinata at the November 7 – 21 multi-sport event.
Over in karatedo, Muhammad Nazirul Hj Johar will see action in the men's individual kata event while Farhah Syahirah Mohd Shamrin in the women's event.

They are joined by national coach Anggoro Bayu Pratama.
The trio of weightlifters - Mohammad Nashrul Hj Abu Bakar (men's U65kg), Muhammad Hj Kamit (men's U79kg) and Jurulena Juna (women's U53kg) – complete the list of athletes and they are accompanied by their coach Martin Guntali.
Over 3,000 athletes from 57 countries are expected to compete at the Saudi capital.
This is the fifth time that Brunei will participate at the Games and they have managed a podium finish once.
Wushu brothers Md Sufi Shayiran and Md Adi Sya'rani Roslan managed a silver medal finish in the duilian event at the 3rd edition of the Games in Palembang, Indonesia back in 2013.
They only sent one athlete – swimmer Nur Haziq Samil @ Ismail – to the last edition in Turkiye in 2022.
