THE national Under-20 futsal team fell to a 7-1 defeat at the hands of Communication Authority of Thailand (CAT) Telecom in Bangkok last night in their first warm-up game ahead of next week’s Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-20 Futsal Championship.

The junior national team trailed 6-0 at the break but improved in the second half to give the hosts more of a fight.

“The players were nervous in the first half, especially since this was the first experience playing internationally for some of them,” said national futsal coach Qusmaini Noor Hj Rusli in a press release from NFABD.

“Their confidence and motivation came back in the second half and we managed to end that half 1-1,” he added.

“We will have to learn from our mistakes and strengthen our defence.

“We also have to increase our quality of play and convert our goal scoring opportunities,” continued Qusmaini.
