THE national futsal team recorded their third straight defeat at the AFF (ASEAN Football Federation) Futsal Championship losing 18-0 to hosts Vietnam yesterday.

Tran Thai Huy scored four goals in the victory to help Vietnam move top of Group A.

They were simply too strong for the national side as they took a comfortable 7-0 lead into halftime at the Pu Tho Indoor Stadium in Ho Chi Minh.

The home team stepped up their game in the second half, hitting 11 goals past Brunei goalkeeper Husin Aji.

Phung Trong Luan and Ngo Ngoc Son also picked up a hat-trick each to complete the rout.

The national team now have conceded 40 goals after three games and also have yet to find the back of the net in the competition.

They kicked off their campaign on Thursday with a 13-0 defeat to Myanmar before falling 9-0 to Indonesia the next day.

The team will close their campaign today against the Philippines (5pm Brunei time).
