DPMM FC picked up their second win in the Singapore Premier League after a 4-1 rout of Geylang International FC last night.

Adi Said opened the scoring before Muhammad Noor Ariff equalised for the Eagles minutes later.

DPMM FC then went back in front through Mojtaba Mostafa before a quick-fire double by Volodymyr Pryomov in the second half completed the win at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.

The Geylang selection was questionable from the start with defender Anders Aplin deployed at the attacking front while Japanese midfielder Fumiya Kogure was played as a centreback to pair with compatriot Yuki Ichikawa.

DPMM FC came out firing on all cylinders and were denied by the woodwork three times in the opening 10 minutes.

Azwan Ali Rahman watched his efforts come off goal frame in the opening and fifth minutes before Volodymyr’s header came off the upright in the ninth minute.

DPMM FC finally broke the deadlock in the 12th minute after Adi pickpocketed Zulfadli Zainal Abidin in the middle of the park before dribbling and firing a shot from the edge of the box to beat Zainol Gulam in between the Geylang sticks.

The Eagles equalised just eight minutes later after Suhaimi Anak Sulau’s clearance hit an onrushing Noor Ariff into goal.

Mojtaba then restored the lead for the hosts a couple of minutes later after powering his header into goal off Adi’s cross from the right.

The Iranian poured forward again the next minute but Zainol did well to keep out his shot.

DPMM FC could have added another in the 28th minute but Volodymyr headed over.

Fairoz Hasan struck one from 35 yards out on the half hour mark but DPMM FC custodian Haimie Anak Nyaring was to his equal to keep it out.

Shawal Anuar then got a header the next minute but didn’t trouble Haimie.

Geylang troubled against just before the halftime whistle but Helmi Zambin dealt with the cross before Haimie caught it.

The match was suspended three minutes into the second half due to inclement weather.

It resumed after half an hour and DPMM FC needed only five minutes to add to their tally.

Mojtaba skipped his defender before putting the ball to Azwan Ali in the middle. The latter then set Volodymyr through to fire past Zainol.

The Ukrainian scored his second just two minutes later after he headed home Hendra Azam Md Idris’ cross from the left.

Adi sprinted some 40 yards towards goal on the hour mark but couldn’t play the right pass to his teammate on the left instead of going for goal.

Volodymyr was sent through by Azwan Ali five minutes later but his shot was saved by Zainol.

Geylang caught DPMM FC napping and took a short corner in the 69th minute but 2015 Player of the Year Kogure couldn’t place his shot on target.

An unmarked Azwan Salleh had a chance to get his name on the scoresheet 10 minutes later but headed off the crossbar.

The Eagles had an opportunity to grab a consolation six minutes from time but Haimie did well to deny Darren Teh at the near post to see Geylang fall to their fourth straight defeat.
