TK Tea House thrash Caresbridge in YOU.C1000 Fuzhou Cup opener

TK Tea House opened up their Group A campaign of of the YOU.C1000 Fuzhou Cup with a 105-52 blowout victory over Caresbridge Forwarding last night.

Darrel Dela Cruz topscored for TK with 23 points while Gisalan added 22 to his name.

The duo of Vincent Superio and Joey Dela Pena also got in double figures with 12 and 11 points respectively in the victory at the newly opened Fuzhou Shiyyi Building in Berakas.

On the other hand, Leslie Teo led the way for Caresbridge with 23 points while Goh Wern Hoong chipped in 11 to a losing cause.

The game was tightly contested only until midway through the opening period with TK leading only by two points.

They then went on a 10-0 run in the next three minutes to create a gap from their opponents and eventually carried a 26-17 advantage into the second frame.

TK were simply far superior and were more physical as they outscored their opponents 21-7 in the 10-minute period to see the lead balloon to 47-24 at halftime enroute to the lopsided win.

In the earlier game, Digimark got their Group A campaign in the veteran’s category off to a winning start with a 100-77 triumph over Thevent.co.

The competition continues today with Hainan Association taking on Hui Huang Enterprise in Group B at 7.15pm.

The second game pits Good Home against Brupay in the same group at 8.45pm.

The competition, which is organised to mark the opening of the new Brunei Fuzhou Shiyyi Association building last Saturday, offers a total of $10,000 for the top three winners of two categories.

The open category attracted a total of 14 teams while the veteran’s category will see eight teams vie for top honours.
