The game looked like it was headed for a blowout as Systematic Living outscored their opponents 19-2 in the opening period

Kedaiku only had one basket in the first quarter courtesy of On Chee Khong in the second minute and nothing else fell for them.

They picked up the pieces to start the second period to score seven unanswered points.

Kedaiku took it into the paint to score and eventually closed the gap to within four points with two minutes to the break.

It was a sloppy start to the second half with the scoreboard reading 34-27 at halftime as both teams failed to find the basket for more than three minutes.

Ching knocked down a three to stop the drought but Kedaiku hung in there and got to within 42-37 midway through the stanza after a layup by Teo.

It remained a two-possession game most of the way until Systematic Living switched to man-to-man defence in the final period.

Kedaiku struggled to get the ball up the court and soon found themselves in a 59-47 hole after a 6-0 run by Systematic Living.

The latter continued to run the floor to score and pull away - eventually seeing out their opponents for victory.

The second game saw Beta Kitchen beat Walltique 84-68 in Group B.

The competition continues today Digimark taking on GHL in the veteran category at 7.15pm.
