Brunei junior wushu team add three bronze medals

THE national junior wushu team added three more bronze medals on the second day of the 11th Asian Junior Wushu Championships in Macau on Saturday.

Walid Lachkar tallied 8.903 points to take third place in the boy's Changquan A event.

Featuring a field of 16 competitors, Chen Yun Chieh of Chinese-Taipei finished at the top of the podium with 9.053 points.

Malaysia's Alvyn Toh Jung Hyuk claimed the runner-up spot with 8.953 points at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion.

Chu Ching Hwa took joint-bronze in the Boy's taijiquan A after he had matching 8.790 points with Sung Tzu Chun of Chinese-Taipei.

Macau's Han Soi Wa produced 8.800 points to take the gold followed by Rainer Reinaldy Ferdiansyah of Indonesia 0.007 points behind.

The third bronze medal was courtesy of Meagan Marie Keasberry after she scored 8.516 points in the Girl's taijiquan C event.

This is her second podium finish after taking bronze in the taijijian event on the opening day of the competition.

Malaysia's Ng Yu Xuan topped the standings with her score of 8.573 points followed by Breena Jeffelin Susanto 0.003 behind.

Brunei is represented by a total of 13 athletes at the August 17-20 competition.
