Brunei junior duilian team win gold

THE national junior wushu team struck gold to close out their campaign at the 11th Asian Junior Wushu Championships in Macau.

The duo of Walid Lachkar and Abel Lim tallied a total of 8.826 points to defeat six countries and finish top of the podium in the boy's duilian A event.

Hong Kong took second place with their score of 8.776 points and Malaysia completed the podium with their haul of 8.560 at the Tap Seac Multisport Pavilion.

The result see Brunei amass a total of one gold and four bronze medals at the competition.

National wushu coach Li Hui was delighted with their outing.

"The performance by our duilian team was very outstanding and perfect. We are very satisfied," said Li Hui.

"Our junior wushu athletes have shown good improvement and were able to win gold at the Asian level.

"We will work harder and look to take it up another level," he added.

The coach went on to thank the Brunei Darussalam National Olympic Council, Brunei Wushu Federation and Department of Youth and Sports for the neverending support.
