HAYLEY Wong clinched the bronze medal in the girl's 14-15 50m butterfly event at the 45th SEA Age Group Swimming Championships in Jakarta on Friday.
The 15-year-old clinched a third place finish amongst a field of 14 swimmers with a time of 29.42 seconds at the Gelora Bung Karno Aquatics Stadium.
Her personal best remains at 29.31s, which she set at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago earlier this month.
Vietnam's Thuy Hien Nguyen won the event with a time of 28.23s followed by Maria Nedelko of Thailand a full second behind.
Wong also smashed the 400m Individual Medley national record after finishing with a time of 5:29.06.
The previous time was 5:34.15.
Brunei had won a silver medal on the first day of competition courtesy of Zeke Chan in the boy's 16-18 100m backstroke event on Thursday.
