BNS moved into the win column after dispatching Minimau 45-31 in the Propel Women's Cup on Sunday night.

Chieng Hei Yien was the other in double figures with 12 in the victory.

On the other hand, Raine Wong carried Minimau on her shoulders with 19 points in the defeat.

Both teams were sluggish to start and BNS opened the scoring after over four minutes of play.

She then hit a jumper from the top of the key to cut the deficit to 9-4 to end the first.

BNS missed a handful of open looks and allowed their opponents to stay close.

Wong scored all of her team's first half points as they trailed 18-14 at halftime.

She knocked down a three-pointer to start the second half before assisting Angelina Wee for a layup to see Minimau go in front for the first time.

The Belait-based team scored seven unanswered to open up an eight-point lead.

Chieng ended the run with a basket before Pang scored a layup off a steal to see Minimau call a timeout.

It worked as Kiwie Chua knocked down a three but Pang replied with a trey of her own at the other end.

Wong was forced out of the game after suffering an injury to her right foot with 1:26 left in the third.

The match was tied at 30-30 going into the decisive frame.

However, Minimau simply lacked fire power without their captain on the floor.

They went without a field goal in the fourth period for the second consecutive game.
