YOKOHAMA defeated Golden Girls 43-36 for their second win in the Propel Women's Cup on Saturday.

Saralyn Mospa carried Yokohama at the offensive end for a game-high of 22 points.

Goh Hui Teng was the other in double figures with 11 to her name in the win.

On the other hand, Tong Sing Ching paced Golden Girls with 13 to a losing effort.

Yokohama jumped out to an early lead by as many as six points at the BBA Court in Batu Bersurat.

A three-pointer by Yvonne Ha followed by a pair of freethrows by Tong saw them close the gap to 8-7 going into the second period.

Mospa was aggressive in driving to the hoop to draw fouls from the Golden Girls defence.

They used a 10-0 run midway through before another trey by Ha with three minutes before the break stopped the rot.

It was a 13-point gap with Goh knocking one down from behind the arc before Almie Gacera split her freethrows to put Yokohama up 27-13 up at halftime.

Points were far and few for both sides after the interval despite getting decent looks.

Yokohama remained in front 37-24 heading into the final quarter.

Golden Girls managed to close the gap as they outscored their opponents 7-2 in six minutes to begin the decisive frame.

They closed to within 39-31 after a basket by Hong Moi Leng then.

However, Mospa then converted off a drive with 3:41 left on the clock to kill the momentum.

She then came up with another big basket from inside the paint with two minutes to play to calm the nerves and it proved to be enough.

The earlier game saw Le Doux pick up their first victory after triumphing 49-24 over Minimau.

Chloe Chen had a good shooting night with 22 points for Le Doux while Gabrielle Chin added 11.

On the other side, Raine Wong led Minimau with 11 points.
