JOVEN DUNGOG will be looking to celebrate his 21st birthday with a bang when Wan Sing take on D'Barkadz in the final of the Low San Basketball Tournament on Saturday.

The new boy in town arrived in the Sultanate in May this year without even a pair of basketball sneakers.

In fact, he is used to playing barefooted in his village on the concrete floor.

He has shown that he can heat up from behind the arc and is a constant threat to the opponent's defence playing in his first high level competition here.

The Filipino guard expects the final to be a huge spectacle.

"There's going to be a lot of fireworks, a great basketball experience and fun," said Dungog to BruSports News with assistant manager Joel Necesito as the translator.

"It will be a showcase of basketball skills, teamwork and the will to win.

"The other team are also our Filipino brothers but on the hard court, it will be a battlefield," he added.

"Whoever works hard and shows more effort will win the game.

"Our team will definitely bring out all the gas we have in our tank in order to win this coveted crown," continued Dungog.

Wan Sing are unbeaten after five matches and have shown their defensive prowess in the knockout stages.

Despite losing their captain Eric Palanca through a competition ban after an altercation with an official in the opening match on Oct 2, they have shown a good flow of basketball.

Besides Dungog, they will be banking on Kenny Lim for the points together with Matt Jerickson and Venilson Lico.

The championship game is scheduled for 8.30pm.
