Brunei complete 6th Asian Beach Games campaign

BRUNEI'S campaign at the 6th Asian Beach Games in Sanya, China came to an end on Sunday.

The country's teqball team of Ismail Ang and Mohammad Hanis Hidayatullah Abdullah couldn't get out of their group after losing both their matches.

They were initially scheduled to play on Friday but the matches had to be postponed due to unfavourable weather conditions.

The pair began with a 2-0 (12-4, 12-6) defeat at the hands of Iraq at the Sanya Bay Yuhai Club Venue Cluster.

They were were then knocked out following a 2-0 (12-7, 12-8) loss against North Korea in their second match.

Over in the long jump events contested on Phoenix Island, Qurratul Ain Irwan placed at the end of the 13-participant standings on Friday.

The country's only female athlete managed a leap of 4.40 metres in her second attempt.

Compatriot Abdul Aqil Abdul Kadir finished in the same position in the men's event the next day after completing a distance of 5.25m.
