Propel x Teik Goldsmith claim second win

PROPEL x Teik Goldsmith rolled to their second straight win in the women's category of the YOU.C1000 Cup after triumphing 98-38 against Hoopsters on Wednesday.

Five players got into double figures for Propel x Teik Goldsmith with Rachael Lee leading the way with 21 points.

Chia Zi Cheng added 16 and Tong Sing Ching notched 15.

Mayble Ling and Vanessa Pang chipped in 12 and 11 respectively in the win.

On the other side, Tew Jing Yi topscored for Hoopsters with 10 points and Kamiela Maidin poured in eight in a losing effort.

It was all Propel x Teik Goldsmith from tip off as they applied pressure against their opponents.

They were forcing turnovers to score on the break for a 22-7 lead at the BBA Court in Batu Bersurat.

The gap would have been bigger but they missed a handful of open looks.

Hoopsters couldn't find the basket before Lim Xue Rou knocked down a three with 3:20 left to the interval.

It sparked four straight buckets in as many possessions as they trailed 44-18 at halftime.

Hoopsters switched up on defence in the second but Propel x Teik Goldsmith were unfazed as they cruised to victory.

The second match saw Hana Boyz make easy work of Faze with a 128-37 win in the Boy's Under-18 category.

Hana Boyz had six players hit double figures with Nicholas Ting leading the way with a game-high of 24 points while Khael Tandoc added 20.

Adrian Lee contributed 15 and Jaeden Chan added 14.

Kevin Chong and Khoo Soon Jing had 11 and 10 respectively.

For Faze, Randy Law was the topscorer with nine points.

The competition resumes on Friday with two more matches.

Propel x Teik Goldsmith will be in action again as they take on Mango Cake at 7pm.

The second game will see Hana Boyz up against Honey Carsmart at 8.45pm.
