LIM Liang Wei and Ahmad Termizi Hj Noordeen combined for 54 points to power Fateh over JM Squad 73-70 in Group B of the YOU.C1000 Cup on Tuesday.
Lim finished with a game-high of 28 points while Mizi had 26 in their first win in three games at the BBA Court in Batu Bersurat.
Fateh used a big third quarter to outscore their opponents 24-13.
They carried a 58-52 lead going into the decisive frame and hung on for the victory.
JM Squad, who were without their topscorers Marcus Quirk and Jeremy Chu, had three players in double figures.
Charles Garcia led the way with 14 points.
The duo of Andy Sim and Lu Yong added 12 and 11 respectively to a losing cause.
In the earlier game, Arnel Respicio hit the game-winner as Ekonic edged the Defender 99-97 in Group A.
In what was their first win in three matches, Andrin Ting topscored for Ekonic with 22 points.
Cris Tanjusay added 21 and Wisley Tumamao contributed 14 before fouling out in the victory.
On the other hand, three players dropped more than 20 points for The Defender.
Phuoh Wee Kit had the game-high of 25 points and Darren Yap added 24.
Kenny Lim poured in 21 while Mike Teo was the other in double figures with 12 in a losing effort.
The competition resumes on Wednesday with Propel x Teik Goldsmith up against Linktech in Group A at 7pm.
The second match will see Wan Sing and Tech G Enterprise battle in Group B at 8.45pm.
