GHK Motors shrugged off a slow start to beat Linktech 85-70 for their second win in the YOU.C1000 Veteran Basketball Cup on Wednesday.
Playing without Ben Sim, GHK were led by Vince Soon with a game-high of 25 points.
Kenny Lim poured in 17 while the duo of Kho Leang Teck and Lim Boon Teck scored 14 and 13 respectively in the victory.
On the other hand, Liu Kwang Yee topscored for Linktech with 17 points.
Boadilla Florante contributed 14 while Erwin Malit and Richard Tan dropped 12 and 11 respectively to a losing cause.

It was a closely contested opening half with GHK leading by as many as three possessions at the BBA Court in Batu Bersurat.
The game was tied at halftime with the teams deadlocked at 34-34.
Back to back transition baskets courtesy of Soon put GHK up 49-39 with 5:45 in the third leading to a Linktech timeout.
The latter were poor with the ball and their passes were easily intercepted by GHK.
The advantage ballooned to 15 points at 56-41 two minutes later.
Linktech stayed in the game and cut the deficit to seven points.

However, the momentum shift was halted when Loo Yau Wai fouled out with 6:37 left in the match.
GHK then scored eight unanswered points the next minute to make it 68-53.
Despite without a big man, Linktech managed to trim the lead.
A three-pointer by Tan got them to within 75-68 with three minutes to go.
Kenny then calmed the nerves of GHK with a trey with the shot click running down the next minute as they hung on for the triumph.

The competition resumes on Friday with two more matches.
Linktech will take on Grand Bean at 7pm.
Holders Cuckoo will then take on GHK in the second game at 8.45pm.
