KINDERFLAIR Basketball Team came out on top in 80-75 against GHK Motors in the YOU.C1000 Veteran Basketball Cup on Tuesday.
Richard Tugbo finished with a team-high of 22 points to pace Kinderflair.
The duo of Ryan Francisco and Gabriel Rosco poured in 16 points apiece in the victory.
On the other side, Kho Leang Teck managed a game-high of 24 points for GHK.
Vince Soon added 18 while Ben Sim and Lim Boon Teck dropped 15 and 12 respectively to a losing cause.
It was a tightly contested battle right from tip off at the BBA Court in Batu Bersurat.
GHK stuck their noses in front 23-20 at the end of the opening period.
Kinderflair went in front after a transition basket over two minutes into the second period to make.
It was a see-saw battle from then on and back-to-back baskets by Kinderflair saw them up 37-35 at halftime.
Kinderflair were going for the long outlet passes to score on the break.
They were up by as many as three possessions but a corner trey by Boon Teck saw them tied at 50-50 with under three minutes.
The game was still for either to take with Kinderflair ahead 56-53 going into the final stanza.

The second match saw CJMM crush Grand Bean 157-66 to extend their winning streak to four games.
Kenny Lim and Alsaid Jauhali combined for 80 points – 40 each in the lopsided encounter.
Yong Chin Aull posted 27 points while Reymundo Maquiraya and Ahmad Termizi Hj Noordeen scored 20 and 18 respectively.
On the other hand, Valdez topscored for Grand Bean with 23 points and Jauhali notched 13.
The tournament resumes on Wednesday with a matchup between Cuckoo and Linktech 7pm.
