The national Under-15 team won the tournament with a 100 percent record closing the campaign beating Bang Dalam FC 1-0 at the Balapan Track and Field in Berakas for their 18th win of the season.
The team, which made history by defeating Cambodia 2-0 for their first ever victory at the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) Under-15 Championship in July, also the scored the most goals in the competition with 77 and only conceded four goals raking maximum 54 points.
Projek Ikan Pusu (PIP) finished second with 41 points while Rimba Star were third with 38 points. Tabuan C, meanwhile, won the Fair Play Award.
PIP’s Mohd Noorsherzaman Hj Hasan Ahmad ended as the tournament’s top scorer with 19 goals to win the Golden Boot Award, and he was also named the tournament’s best player.
“We didn’t play our normal game today and we know we can do much better,” said Tabuan A assistant coach Muhd Edie Fakhri Ajun Abdullah in an interview after the match.
“But overall, we are very happy with this achievement and our main objective was to give all the players a chance to develop and progress.
“We won all our games because of our balanced programme in training in both defence and attack,” he added.
It was a good year for Tabuan A as they also won the NFABD Under-16 Elite Youth Cup in July. They also won both tournaments last season.
NFABD Acting General Secretary Pg Md Amirrizal Pg Hj Mahmud presented the trophy and prizes to the winners.
Tabuan A team and two players from PIP will be representing Brunei at this month's Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-15 Qualifier in Chinese Taipei.
