DPR Korea stamped their clash over the national under-15 football team with a 9-0 victory in Group F of the 2018 AFC Under-16 Championship qualifiers earlier today.

The result means that DPR Korea have scored 19 goals and conceded none over their first two games.

On the other hand, Brunei are on three points from three games contested.

DPR Korea opened the floodgates in the sixth minute through Ri Hun before adding their second six minutes later courtesy of Kim Kang-song at the Fu Jen University in Chinese Taipei..

Kim Won-il made it 3-0 just a minute later before Ra Nam-hyon scored their fourth in the 22nd minute.

Won-il bagged his second of the match soon after before the duo of Kim Jun-hyok and Kang-song added two more to make it 7-0 at halftime.

DPR Korea only needed four minutes into the second half to add to their tally with Ko Chang-ung finding the back of the net.

Won-il then completed his hat-trick on the hour mark to send DPR Korea top of the group.

National under-15 football coach Stephen Ng admitted the huge gap between the two sides but was proud of his charges.

“For those who watched the game today, you would know that it was a very tough game with the big football gap between the two teams,” said Ng.

“There is no shame on our team as our boys fought a good fight and gave everything they had. No head went down today and we tried our utmost best to compete.

“We will learn from this humble lesson and with the proper support back home, we will continue to improve and hope to one day we can play them again on a more level playing field,” he added.

Brunei will play their final group match against Hong Kong on Friday.
