DPMM FC got their Singapore Premier League (SPL) campaign off to a perfect start after defeating Home United FC 4-2 last night.

Debutant Volodymyr Pryyomov netted a double while the duo of Abdul Aziz Tamit and Mojtaba Mostafa bagged a goal each in the victory at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.

On the other hand, Sirina Camara and Shahril Ishak netted for the visitors in the defeat.

DPMM FC got off to a strong start and Mojtaba came close to opening his account in the 12th minute but his effort was kept out by Home United goalkeeper Kenji Rusydi.

However, the hosts grabbed the lead off the ensuing corner with Volodymyr firing home from outside six yards out.

DPMM FC doubled their advantage just two minutes later after Adi Said headed down a corner for Aziz to backheel the ball into goal at the near post.

Volodymyr almost bagged a second just before the half hour mark but his header off another corner came off the woodwork.

DPMM FC could have added to their tally after Adi headed down another corner but this time Aziz couldn’t keep his shot down to test Kenji.

Home United almost pulled one back before the break after Song Ui-Yong was through but shot over.

DPMM FC continued from where they left off to start the second half with Azwan Ali Rahman getting back-to-back opportunities inside the opening minute.

However, he failed to get his name on the scoresheet after watching his shot come off the crossbar before heading over from close range moments later.

Volodymyr made it 3-0 with his second of the game in the 54th minute after firing home a free-kick past an outstretched Kenji.

Haimie came to the rescue of the hosts in the 65th minute first denying Song before keeping out Faizal Roslan’s header off a corner.

Mojtaba then got his name on the scoresheet after drilling a low shot past Kenji in the 71st minute.

Camara grabbed one back for the Protectors two minutes later with his strike from outside the box, which came off the woodwork and bounced off the back of Haimie into goal.

That was exactly what Home United needed as they were on the ascendancy and piled on the pressure.

To make matters worse, Brian McLean had to be subbed off for an injury with 15 minutes to play.

Home United came close on several occasions to cut the deficit and eventually got a second through Shahril late into injury time as a mere consolation.

DPMM FC will next travel to the Jurong East Stadium to take on defending champions Albirex Niigata FC (S) on April 14.
