DPMM FC continued their unbeaten run in the Singapore Premier League after a thrilling 4-2 victory over Warriors FC.

The Brunei side had let a two-goal lead slip before two late goals sealed all three points for the leaders.

Andrei Varankou bagged a brace bringing his total tally to 10 goals from six matches while the duo of Azwan Ali Rahman and Blake Ricciuto scored a goal each in the win at the Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas.

On the other hand, Gabriel Quak and captain Sahil Suhaimi netted for the Warriors.

DPMM FC got off to a perfect start after Azwan scored the opener just over 50 seconds into the game.

Charlie Clough had headed forward Warriors goalkeeper Fashah Iskandar’s goalkick and it fell for Azwan to give chase. The latter then cleaverly chipped the keeper from over 22 yards out.

The match was brought to an abrupt halt over 25 minutes into the game due to inclement weather and only resumed almost 45 minutes later.

DPMM FC were awarded a penalty three minutes before halftime after Ricciuto was tripped inside the box.

Varankou then stepped up to convert from 12 yards out to double his side’s advantage.

Warriors came out a different side and grabbed one back just eight minutes into the second half.

Gabriel Quak attempt a long distance strike from outside the box to beat Wardun Yussof in between the DPMM FC sticks.

The hosts had trouble dealing with the long balls forward and their opponents eventually equalised in the 68th minute.

Wardun had done well to deny Quak a second goal but the ball was kept in play and passed to Jonathan Behe. The frenchman then laid it off for an onrushing Sahil to fire home.

The Warriors came close to taking the lead in the 78th minute after Sahil’s corner came off the crossbar.

DPMM FC eventually went back in front off a counter attack four minutes later. Fashah had gone full stretch to keep out Ricciuto’s header but couldn’t prevent his second attempt off Varankou’s cross from going in.

The hosts then put the game to bed in additional time after another counter attack sent substitute Razimie Ramlli off to the races.

He did well to draw Fashah off his line and laid it nicely for Andrei to fire home his second of the encounter.

DPMM FC don’t have much time to rest as they will be back in action again on Wednesday night when they host the Young Lions.
