Brunei’s only professional basketball team have signed on 7’1 Serbian Pavle Cevtinovic as their world import and the trio of Filipino imports - Leo Avenido, Patrick Cabahug and Roider Cabrera - for the February 8 - March 23 competition.

The local players include captain Darren Yap, Gideon Fong, Ahmad Termizi Hj Noordeen, Lim Liang Wei, Masduqi Hj Hussin, Marcus Lim and William Ching.

The trio of Kel Hung, Takumi Shioga and Ralph Borja Jr complete the lineup.

Pegasus have hired Filipino coach Jade Padrigao to guide them and he is assisted by his older brother Magenelio P Padrigao II.

“We still have two weeks to prepare before going to Thailand. We will go there ready and in great condition,” said Jade.

“The way we are going, I have high hopes for the team with the support of Sam and others in Pegasus.

“I expect us to play hard and be competitive. I’m not throwing any predictions but we are there to do what Pegasus basketball is all about,” he added.

Cevtinovic has spent most of his time playing in Europe and he is looking forward to lace up for Pegasus.

“Our target is to do our best. We have a young and new team. We will do our best to be competitive against other teams in TBSL, “ said the 22-year-old.

“Practice is good. We don’t have all players yet but we started good and hard. We will prepare and go Thailand in very good shape,” he added.
